Data Usage Policy

The context of this document is to define how data from your tags, vendors, and users relates to UberTags service.

I. Data from your tags doesn’t flow thru UberTags
UberTags is a mechanism to deliver tags (3rd party code snippets) to your website(s). When a tag is deployed onto your site via UberTags, it executes on the client/browser just as if it were hard-coded into the page. Thus, data doesn’t pass back through UberTags when the tag executes and UberTags doesn’t see or store any user data.

Since tags consist of raw code snippets, there isn’t any transfer or storage of any user Personally Identifiable Information (PII) as a result of UberTags delivering the tag payload.

II. Information we receive from your website
When you place your UberTag Code Snippet across your site, UberTags receives but doesn’t store anonymous (non-PII) information about your site in order to determine which tags to deliver back to the page in realtime. This includes the URL of the page, which is the primary driver of determining the appropriate tags for a page.

UberTags also has counters used to track clients’ UberTags usage over time for billing and engagement measurements. Thus UberTags sees aggregate client traffic levels.

III. How we use information we receive
While UberTags doesn’t see or store any data about your users, it does have information such as the number of tags in an account, particular vendors in use, and traffic levels. This data can be used for:
▪ Informing future product features
▪ Internal operations including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, and service improvement

This client data is held in the strictest of confidence; it won’t be shared without anonymizing and aggregating unless there is explicit client permission.

IV. Security and bugs
We invest heavily to keep your information secure and our service bug-free. If there is a suspected or known breach or error that compromises any client data security, we may trigger mandatory password resets and will invoke our client communication plan.

V. Notice of Changes
If we make changes to this Data Use Policy we will post publicly here ( If the changes are material, we will provide you additional, prominent notice as appropriate under the circumstances.
